RGS Mini Lecture by Dr. Arne Uhlendorff

Dr. Arne Uhlendorff visited the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) on September, 5-7th 2016. He gave a RGS Mini-Lecture on "Discrete Choice and Duration Models". 12 interested PhD students from the RGS Econ and the RWI joined the three day course to learn more about current topics in these fields. The course covered the major discrete choice models, including logit and mixed logit models, as well as state-of-the-art duration models for both continuous and discrete time. The emphasis of the course was on empirical applications, which were implemented by the students in the programming language Matlab.

Arne Uhlendorff is a CNRS researcher at CREST (Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistiques) and is the deputy director of the IPP (Institut des Politiques Publiques) in Paris. He has published in high-ranked journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Applied Econometrics and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A.

The RGS Econ thanks Arne Uhlendorff for his visit and highly appreciates his enthusiastic teaching style and his willingness to engage with students and their research questions.
