RGS Mini-Lecture by Prof. Guinanne on Economic History
From February 19th through February 20th Prof. Timothy Guinnane visited the Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) to teach a RGS Mini-Lecture on "Economic History". Prof. Guinnane covered a broad range of topics from economic history. In particular, he focused on the role of institutions, the gold standard, German debt in the nineteenth century and the industrial revolution. The lecture was characterized by a vivid discussion with the 25 participating students from RGS Economics and its cooperation partners.
Prof. Guinnane holds the Philip Golden Bartlett Professorship of Economic History at Yale University and is a research fellow at the University of Munich and at the CES-Ifo. Prof. Guinnane has published in high-ranked journals such as American Economic Review, Journal of Economic History or Economic History Review.
