In their first year, students must participate in mandatory lectures in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics. They must also be actively involved in a literature seminar and are expected to participate in a topics seminar. In the latter, faculty members will present their research field to the students. The schedule of the first year can be summarised as follows:

Winter Term (first semester):

  • Microeconomics I (4 hours per week)
  • Macroeconomics I (4 hours per week)
  • Econometrics I (4 hours per week)
  • Rotating Lecture I (2 hour per week)

Summer Term (second semester):

  • Microeconomics II (4 hours per week)
  • Macroeconomics II (4 hours per week)
  • Econometrics II (4 hours per week)
  • Literature seminar II (2 hours per week)

In the second and third year, when emphasis is mainly on research, students must attend the RGS Econ elective courses and different seminars where research issues can be discussed.
