Notifications of acceptance will be announced on July 24, 2016.
There is no participation fee and accommodation for two overnight stays will be provided by the organizers. The participants have to cover their own travel costs.
The keynote lectures will be given by
Prof. Christina Gathmann (University of Heidelberg) and
Prof. Hillel Rapoport (Paris School of Economics).
Aim and Scope:
The aim of the workshop is to bring together young and experienced researchers to present and discuss their work in the broad area of migration economics. Both empirical and theoretical contributions are welcome. The workshop will be organized in a matter designed to foster interaction among the participants in a relaxed atmosphere.

How to get there from Essen Hbf (main station):
- Take the tram #108 from “Essen Hbf” to “Katzenbruchstraße” (direction “Altenessen”), travel time: 6 minutes.
- Alternatively, you can walk via Essen’s pedestrian zone (approx. 2.3km).

How to get from the airport to Essen Hbf:
- Düsseldorf (closest airport):
Take the SkyTrain to Düsseldorf Flughafen Bahnhof where you find regular connections to Essen Hbf via ICE, IC or local trains (RE1, RE2, RE6 or S1). Approximate travel time from Flughafen Bahnhof: 20-25 minutes (S1: 37 minutes).
Train connections via Köln Hbf (Cologne main station) or Köln Messe/Deutz (Cologne trade fair), approximate travel time: 1h08-1h30.
Take the bus “BusAirEx” directly to Dortmund Hbf (runs every hour). From Dortmund Hbf you find regular connections to Essen Hbf via ICE, IC or local trains.
Parking is free of charge in Altenessener Straße and Blücherstraße. For hotel guests, there is also free parking in the basement garage.
